In Memory
This page is honor and remember a horse that meant more to me than you can ever know.  He was a truly amazing animal who came
into my life as a surprise, and was a hero, a friend, a member or the family, and the most wonderful thing a child could ever have.  He
was truly amazing.  On this page, you will find a poem that my father wrote about Grey many years ago, as well as quotes from cards
I received when he died, and photos of this wonderful animal.  He touched many lives, most of all mine.  He has been dead for two
years in May, and it is only now that I am able to make this page for him.  I have loved many people and animals, but he will always
hold an amazing place in my heart and my life.
This is a photo of Grey and I showing in the summer of 1995.
Grey passed away in May of 2004.  He was the love of my life.
He was my childhood friend and the finest horse I will ever
own.  Everyone should be so lucky.  Grey was 24 when he
died.  I will love him forever.
** I have decided to add some other horses in this memorium since there are
some that my customers have lost that deserve to be remembered!
** "Jack" or Jackeroo Chops as I
affectionately named him, was a 7 year
old Oldenburg gelding owned by Ann
McGayhey.  I loved this horse.  He was
such a talent and he had the heart to
go along with it.  This horse was a
pleasure, so much that I wanted to own
him...  that's saying something!  He
was schooling 2nd level at the time of
his tragic death.  Unfortunately, we lost
Jack to what we believe was a brain
tumor in January 2006.  I will always
remember how much this horse trusted
me, even when he was afraid.  He
gave me a great feeling and a great
experience.   Also, he always came to
when I called him in the pasture!  This
was a great feature!
**Tex's Win "Gus" was a 12 year old Appendix gelding
owned by Therese Wyatt.  Gus tried very hard to be a
good teacher for his rider, adn most of the time he was
successful.  He did have a bolting issue, but he taught
Therese so much about trust and perseverance. Gus
was a great little horse with a good heart.  Therese
showed him very successfully at Intro and she also
showed him at Training level during the June Poplar
Place Show in 2006.  Unfortunately, we lost Gus to a
severe bout of EPM in September 2006.  We were all
saddened and quite crushed, however seeing him
suffer the way he was suffering, euthanasia was our
only option.  Gus was a very good animal, and all who
knew him and his kind nature will remember him for all
time to come.

The Gray Horse
(For Amber)
By : Darryl Clark

He was born in Nacogdoches county
in the heart of the east Texas woods
he grew to just over fifteen hands
and his temperament turned out good

His mother was a champion cutter
I was told at the time of the sell
His father's identity is questionable
That's why there's no paper trail

We bought him for the girl to barrel race
though he'd trained to cut and team pen
She ran him some and he did fine
but life's changed a little since then

As girls will do, she changed her mind
and started training for equestrian events
the gray horse had to change his ways
but acted like it made perfect sense

He learned to jump and long trot
and the girl learned right along, too
Dressage, hunter-hack, all the classes
love for each other grew

They've been winners together
ribbons red, yellow, and blue
They're better for the association
Friends tested, tried, and true

That gray has been a bargain
our daughter has more than a horse
she has a good friend and partner
and he has her, of course.
